A rare and magnificent female courtier from the Ming Dynasty -1368-1644 AD – in excellent condition. At 85 cm tall, this immense figure is wearing a hanfu in shades of blue and black. She also wears a distinguishable red skirt as lower part of the ao’qun – a popular female hanfu design from the epoch.  She is standing on a rectangular black & blue plinth, and the unglazed areas have pigmented colors in red, black and white with finely expressed facial features. The head is detachable, as often seen on the larger figures from this period. She holds a black vessel at her chest, and is grasping a traditional Ming fan in blue on her right hand. Condition: Excellent, finely preserved glaze and pigment, undamaged and no repairs. Ex.
