Colima Seated Man with Shell Necklace
$4,900
Figure; Male Depiction, Clay, Reddish Hue.
Product Description
The man sits, lurching forward slightly, with the right arm clenched in a fist and the left raised as if holding an object. His back is a bulging hump as if suffering from scoliosis. He wears a series of large bi-valve shells surrounding the neck, has a small horn emerging from the forehead, and features a yellowish face painted with a red frame showing a chin strap and headwrap. The figure is reconstructed from several large pieces and the left arm completely modern. Overall, with strong ancient surface and nice sheen. Colima, Mexico.
