Ceremonial bowl composed of a skull kapala with a tin-silver lining set with a central turquoise stone surrounded with a brass repousse flaming dorji element. Overall surface patina. Intact, exc. cond. A good old example. Provenance: Collection of Ernst Haas, photojournalist and pioneer photographer. Collected in Tibet in the 1950s. Mr. Haas also authored “Himalayan Pilgrimage”. By descent to his son. Size: 7-1/4”L. x 3-1/4”H. Ca. late 19th century.
