Product Description
Openwork headdress with dome shaped cap and long triangular flap along back. The thick woven fiber is covered with layered rows of nassa shells and border areas of larger cowry shells, and a conus shell on top. Four strands with long mother-of-pearl sickle shape beads are suspended around cap rim. Cap supported by a metal frame. Provenance: Originally in the Cincinnati Art Museum Collection. Deaccesionnated on Sept. 15/ 2010
